Gary Kelly Memorial Photography Show
The Gary Kelly Memorial Photography show gives photographers in our community and DFW a chance to showcase their works. From still lifes to portraits to photojournalism, beautiful pieces are displayed in the Uptown Gallery for all to see.
Gary Kelly was a beloved former member of the Grand Prairie Association of Artsts. After he retired, he pursued his lifelong passions of music and photography, full-time. He took photography workshops, joined the Dallas Camera Club and Grand Prairie Arts Council, winning numerous awards including "Best of Show" and "Doctor of Field Tripology". Not only did he have a passion for photography, but also mentoring other artists. This photography show is held annual in memory of our dear friend and fellow artist.
Call for Entries: GPAC's 2024 Gary Kelly Photography Show
Join us in celebrating the art of photography with the Grand Prairie Arts Council’s Gary Kelly Photography Spring Show and Sale. This year, we’re inviting photographers to explore the monochrome elegance that complements our theater production of Mel Brooks' musical, "The Producers." Over 1000 people will view this public photography display in the beautiful Uptown Theater Gallery.

Eligibility: Open to all artists aged 18 and over.

Requirements: Entries must be original black and white photographs taken by the submitting artist. No copies of published artwork are allowed.

Submission Fee: Free!

Number of Submissions: Up to 3 photographs per artist.

Submission Deadline: Midnight, Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.

Notification: Selected participants will be informed by Friday, June 7th, 2024.

Commission: There will be a 15% commission charged on sold pieces.

Art Drop-off: June 9th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Uptown Theater, 120 E Main St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Art Pick-up: June 30th, 2024, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location

Opening Reception: Join us on Friday, June 21st, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Uptown Theater. This reception coincides with the opening night of "The Producers." We are pleased to offer tickets to the opening night show, which starts at 8:00 PM. Please let us know if you would like to attend when you submit your entries.
